Death Row Gethsemane

Before I'd met Robert, but after his execution date had been set, I painted this picture, wondering how in the world someone on death row deals with knowing the date of his death by electrocution. I thought of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemene, wrestling with his agony over an impending execution. And I could imagine Jesus holding onto a person in the same situation.

After I met Robert, I realized HE was not the one in the painting. It was ME!

I was terrified!
